breaking up with happiness

to only seek happiness would be to deny ourselves of the human experience

our emotions, our perspectives, our sexualities, how we feel moment to moment can fall on any end of the spectrum and most likely, right in between

why do we vilify sadness yet honor the winter? why do we detest letting go yet gather for the fall?

as creatures of the earth, we are as cyclical as the trees and tides and migrating birds

if nature evolves seasonally, why wouldn’t we?

happiness is found when you stop seeking it

happiness is found when you stop trying to squeeze it out of a emotional spiral

happiness is found when you embrace neutrality

happiness is peace

and peace is knowing that it’s okay to be lethargic and curious and reminiscent and tired and playful and anxious and sociable

peace is not judging your emotions or trying to fix them back to happiness by abusing bath bombs before even asking yourself why you’re feeling what you’re feeling

before even asking yourself what this emotion is trying to teach you or tell you or warn you

the secret lies in how we respond to what we feel; you should never be led by a feeling, you should simply honor the feeling

be the pillar that observes your emotions like clouds passing in the sky and respond intentionally

if your joy is asking you to be celebrated in hibernation, intend on it

if your anxiety is asking you to reach out to a friend, intend in it

if your confidence is making you want to dance, intend on it

if your nostalgia is asking you to be journaled through, intend on it

if your overactive mind is asking you to please put the self-help book down for just one fucking night and put in some mindless television that makes you laugh and not deconstruct every hidden meaning, intend on it

happiness is a fraction of what we are so blessed to experience

don’t cheat yourself out of your own humanity

Hi, lovely! My name is Jazmin Kylene, and I’m a spiritual counselor and journalist. I created Lali La Luna as a sacred space for us to connect, express, and feel seen in a conscious manner. I leave those on a healing journey and seeking my guidance feeling empowered and aligned through detailed chart readings, one-on-one/group healing sessions, and interviews that explore what we’re all experiencing and simply not talking about. My only intention within my work is to provide a mirror to your own magic.
